Official Evacuation Levels Are Being Removed from the Deer Canyon

Evacuation

Effective immediately, official evacuation levels are being removed from the Deer Canyon, Cebollita Mesa, Jemez Springs, Los Alamos Laboratory, Los Alamos County, Cochiti Lake, Cochiti Pueblo, Valles Caldera National Park, Sierra de los Pinos, 38A, Cochiti Mesa and FR10 evacuation areas.

The Cerro Pelado and Peralta Canyon evacuation areas remain in "Go" status due to continued safety concerns with heavy equipment and work crews actively working in the area.  There is currently no active fire threat in these areas.

Returning residents should remain in “Ready” mode, meaning being ready to leave if conditions change. If conditions change and the fire threatens communities again, these areas could return to “Go".
