The New Mexico Counties (NMC) held their 2025 Legislative Conference in January, where Sandoval County received recognition for three awards. The county was honored with the Risk Awareness Program (RAP) for its tenth year, the Adult Detention Center Accreditation Award, and the FY23 Audit Accountability Award for a large county.
Key figures from Sandoval County and NMC were present at the event. Among them were Chair Michael Meek of District 3, Risk Management Assistant Qudus Sokunbi, Commissioner Katherine A. Bruch of District 1, and several other officials including NMC Vice President Tina Dixon and NMC President Annie Hogland.
Additionally, during their first regular Board meeting on January 23, 2025, the New Mexico County Insurance Authority (NMCIA) Board of Directors conducted elections for officers. Sandoval County Chairman Commissioner Michael Meek was unanimously re-elected as the New Mexico Counties (NMC) Board Representative.
