Residents of Rio Rancho are urged to stay vigilant against phishing scams. City officials have advised the community to carefully review emails to confirm they originate from a verified City of Rio Rancho email address, such as those ending in @rrnm.gov.

The city has highlighted that signs of fraudulent emails include incorrect names and references related to job titles or city departments. In cases where an email, invoice, or other information appears suspicious, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the City of Rio Rancho by calling 505-891-5000. Alternatively, residents can send a new email addressed specifically to a @rrnm.gov email address for verification.

"This advisory is to help protect you and your financial resources," emphasized the city's communication.
