Sandoval County is pleased to announce the Summer Enrichment Internship Program will return in 2022!
The College and Career Readiness Bureau (CCRB) of the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) launched the Summer Enrichment Internship Program in the summer of 2021. The federal government initially committed more than $9.89 million for the program as part of pandemic relief efforts with funding to cover the cost of summer internships for New Mexico high school students in 2021 and 2022. The Goal is to provide high school students and at-risk youth with the opportunity to participate in high-quality internships (20 hours per week for 6 weeks) with government agencies and community organizations, including county, tribal, and/or municipal placements.
To be eligible for this internship program the following requirements must be met:
• Able to attend internship 12+ hours per week for 6 weeks (must have transportation)
• Able to work in the U.S. (16 years of age or must have a valid work permit)
• Commit to attending pre-session trainings and weekly cohort support meetings via Zoom or in person.
**Per internship site guidelines, applicants may be asked to complete a background check and drug test prior to start.
