City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Sept. 23.
Rio Rancho, New Mexico has been named a ‘Best Place to Live in America’ by Money’s Best Places to Live annual ranking. Rio Rancho was highlighted as a desirable place to live citing its steady population growth and numerous quality of life features such as parks and hiking and biking trails.
“This national recognition, once again, confirms our commitment to and vision of being the best City in the southwest,” said Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull. “It is because of the hard work of our City employees and the continued community investment of our citizens that we have maintained steady growth and development, despite the recent challenges related to COVID-19. The City of Rio Rancho remains dedicated to providing the highest levels of quality of life and public safety that contribute to our community being a phenomenal place to live.”
This year, Money looked at towns and cities with a population of at least 25,000 and ranked the Best Places to Live putting the greatest emphasis on economic factors, like employment opportunities, as well as supply and demand for homes, cost of living, quality of schools, racial and economic diversity, and health and safety. This list of 50 towns and cities were also selected because these are places where the economy, job growth, and housing markets remained strong despite COVID-19 disruptions.
