Man’s best friend is being celebrated worldwide on Friday, August 26.
Dogs have been pets for as long as we can remember. International Dog Day was started in 2004 and has been a day to help out pups ever since.
The goal of the day was to raise awareness for homeless dogs. According to the Humane Society, as many as 7 million dogs do not have a home in the U.S.
There are a few things you can do to show support:
Adopt
2. Donate to a shelter (For example Watermelon Mountain Ranch)
3. Treat your dog to a well deserved day off
Appreciate them now by sharing a cute picture of your fur-baby with us. All shapes and sizes are welcome!
We at the Observer love dogs and puppies, so send us yours. Please include name, age and breed. The deadline is Thursday, August 25.
Send all photos to mhelean@rrobserver.com and we will make sure the photo gets on our web site and Facebook.
