City Manager Matt Geisel has delivered the Recommended Fiscal Year 2026 Budget for municipal operations and services and the Capital Program for 2026-2030 to the Mayor and City Council. The budget addresses the fiscal period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
In accordance with the city charter, Rio Rancho's Mayor has until April 25 to review the proposed budget and capital program and submit written feedback to the City Manager.
The Governing Body, consisting of the Mayor and City Council, will examine the Recommended FY 26 Budget and Capital Program at a public hearing scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at City Hall. The session will be available via live stream and will also be archived on the city's website.
Public input on the budget and capital program will be entertained during the Governing Body's routine monthly meetings at City Hall on May 8, 2025, and May 22, 2025, both starting at 6 p.m. The adoption of the FY 26 Budget and Capital Program will be decided during the May 22 meeting.
The Governing Body is also set to review and vote on a final FY 26 budget in July, to incorporate the end of FY 25 financial closeout and other minor amendments.
