The City of Rio Rancho has announced it is accepting applications from local residents for various board, committee, and commission vacancies due to term expirations. Residents who wish to serve can apply by submitting their applications and résumés to the City Clerk's Office at Rio Rancho City Hall until all positions are filled.
Seats available include two on the Arts Commission for districts 2 and 5, which require applicants with art-related experience. The Capital Improvements Plan Citizen’s Advisory Committee has two at-large seats for individuals with backgrounds in real estate or the building industry.
The Investment Advisory Board seeks a representative from districts 2 or 3, requiring experience in public finance. Meanwhile, the Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful Committee has openings in districts 2, 6, and at-large for individuals interested in recycling and environmental initiatives.
Additionally, there is one opening on the Library Board for district 2 to advise on public library matters. The Lodger’s Tax Advisory Board has four vacancies requiring members who are lodging owners or operators affected by occupancy taxes.
The Parks and Recreation Commission welcomes applicants from districts 1, 2, 4, and 5 who are keen on parks planning, while the Planning and Zoning Board has two openings for districts 3 and 4 to aid city development processes.
The Public Infrastructure Advisory Board is searching for input on budgets related to roads and utilities, looking for four members from districts 1, 3, 4, and at-large. Lastly, the Senior Services Advisory Board is open to applicants from districts 1 and 6 for managing senior programs.
