Rio Rancho is preparing to celebrate the holiday season with Winterfest 2024, an event featuring a variety of activities. The celebration will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Center, located at 3200 Civic Center Circle NE.
The event schedule includes photos with Santa starting at 5 p.m., followed by a parade and tree-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m., and concluding with fireworks at 7 p.m. "Schedule is subject to change," according to the organizers.
Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their floats with LED lights and must register online by November 29th. Additional information states that all start times for events may be adjusted or canceled due to weather conditions such as snow, rain, wind, lightning, or public health orders. Admission is free and parking along with park seating space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Winterfest Parade and associated activities are organized by the Rio Rancho Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department along with the Rio Rancho Events Center. For more details about Winterfest, interested individuals can call (505) 892-4499.
