On Thursday, July 4, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., Campus Park in City Center will host a parade, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and fireworks.

Campus Park, featuring the Sky Room outdoor performance space and amphitheater, will be open to the public for Fourth of July celebrations. Spectators can enjoy live music in the Sky Room during and after the parade. The festivities will culminate in a fireworks display. Admission is free. For those who prefer only to view the fireworks without attending other events at Campus Park, ample parking is available in surrounding lots where visitors can tailgate.

The event schedule is as follows:

- 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.—Parade line-up

- 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.—Parade float judging

- 5:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.—Food trucks and beer garden

- 6:00 p.m.— Parade through City Center

- 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.—Live music

- 9:15 p.m.—Fireworks Extravaganza

Participants are encouraged to decorate floats with a patriotic theme for the parade. Registration can be completed online at www.rrnm.gov/ParadeRegistration, in person at City Hall, or by calling (505) 891-5015. Participation is free, with a registration deadline of Friday, June 28, 2024.

Event start times are subject to weather conditions and may be canceled or delayed due to rain, wind, or lightning. Parking and park seating are available on a first-come-first-served basis; blankets and coolers are permitted but no glass containers or individual grills are allowed.

The City of Rio Rancho encourages residents to attend public fireworks displays rather than using personal fireworks due to safety concerns. Fireworks that exceed ten feet in height or are louder than a cap gun are prohibited by city ordinances. Violations may result in fines up to $500 and/or jail time up to ninety days.

For more information about the city's Fourth of July events, visit www.rrnm.gov/july4 or contact the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department at (505) 891-5015.
