The City of Rio Rancho’s Financial Services Department has been recognized for its budget document for the 18th consecutive year by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This award is considered the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award acknowledges the City’s budget for the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. To receive this award, the City’s budget had to meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines stipulate that a budget must serve as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
The GFOA is a professional organization serving over 22,500 government entities and finance practitioners.
