Rio Rancho's outdoor pools to open May 25 with extended summer hours for Aquatic Center

The City of Rio Rancho has announced that its outdoor pools will open to the public on Saturday, May 25. The pool locations and their respective hours of operation are as follows:

The Cabezon Recreation Center Pool, located at 2307 Cabezon Blvd., will be open from May 25 through August 4, with recreational swimming available daily from noon to 6 p.m. Lap swimming will also be available during these hours.

The Haynes Community Center Pool, situated at 2006 Grande Blvd., will be open from May 25 through August 11 for recreational swimming daily from noon to 6 p.m. From August 17 through September 2, both recreational and lap swimming will be available on Saturdays and Sundays only, from noon to 6 p.m. Lap swimming can also be enjoyed during open hours.

Rainbow Pool, found at 301 Southern Blvd., will operate from May 25 through August 11, offering recreational swim daily from noon to 6 p.m. Lap swimming is available Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m. Water aerobics classes are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon.

The daily fee for using any of the outdoor pools is $4. Children aged between two and twelve years old, as well as adults aged fifty-five years or older, are charged a reduced fee of $3 per day.

In addition to these outdoor facilities, the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center at 745 Loma Colorado Blvd., operates year-round with extended summer operating hours planned from May 28 through August 4. The center will close on specific dates including Memorial Day (May 27), Juneteenth (June19), Independence Day (July4), and for annual maintenance (August 7-11). The center also remains closed until 2 p.m. on the first Monday of each month for regular maintenance.
