The Rio Rancho Observer is proud to announce Tracy Goldizen has been named the editor of the Rio Rancho Observer.

Goldizen has more than 15 years of experience in community news, primarily in Iowa. During her tenure at the Ottumwa Courier, she covered schools, special events, community organizations, crime, business and unique people in the community.

Goldizen took the lead in introducing several award-winning lifestyle magazines that also became must-reads in the community.

Her journalistic focus and philosophy is local, local, local.

Goldizen received her B.A. in English writing and literature from the University of Iowa as well as graduating from the university’s renowned School of Journalism & Mass Communication.

For the past 15 months, she has been working with the parent company of the Observer on another project and living in Rio Rancho.

“I’m very excited to get to know my community even better by making connections through and covering stories for the Observer,” she said.

Her duties officially began Monday, Jan. 9.

She is also looking forward to the future of the paper, with many developments and projects in the works for the coming months.
