Another Adoption Event At Petsense, Abused Animal Needs Help

Cross My Paws Animal Rescue is holding another adoption event Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Petsense on Ridgecrest Dr. from 10 am to 2 pm.

All dogs available for adoption are ages nine weeks to three years old.

The selection of dogs consists of mainly border collies, blue heelers and several mixes.

There is one in particular by the name of Ford who suffered abuse from a previous owner.

The Cross My Paws website states, “After being shot by a cruel and misguided individual, Ford was left to fend for himself for at least 2 weeks before we found him. He needs special care. We are working with the CO vet school to determine how much can be done for him. Meanwhile, he is up for adoption to someone who can truly handle his special needs.”

According to the Humane Society, 70 percent of abused spouses reported that their partner abused animals too. An average of 10 million pets get abused every year.

Fortunately, Ford was able to get help.

“When you adopt, you’re not just giving a deserving animal a home. You are giving these furries a chance at life without struggle and the love that they all deserve,” Cross My Paws website says.

They have given 800 animals a home in the past one and a half years.
