For their community day on Oct. 10, the local Nusenda Credit Union staff decided to help out at Watermelon Mountain Ranch.
The non-for-profit company does not send funds to shareholders like a bank or other credit union would.
Instead, they redistribute the profits back into the community. And they have done this the past five years.
“I love a day like today. It is an opportunity to give back to our community, but it also helps us learn what our community partners are doing,” Project Site Manager Ann Sickward said.
Sickward said that the animals there were happy to see people, too, even though the staff were there to do chores.
The dogs in the fenced areas were very excited, tail-wagging and barking.
However, it is a reminder that so many animals need a home. Not one kennel was empty…
Watermelon Mountain Ranch was founded in 1996 by Lee and Sophia DiClemente and still accepts animals all the time.
