The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. — Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel and Assured Imaging are hosting mobile mammographies in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event will serve folks from the northern Rio Rancho and Bernalillo areas, according to an announcement from Santa Ana.
Assured Imaging’s mobile mammography unit will be stationed at Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel to conduct digital breast cancer screenings on Friday, Oct. 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Early detection is by far our greatest weapon against breast cancer, so Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel is proud to support the women of our community by providing an easy, convenient opportunity for them to get their yearly mammograms,” said Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel Director of Marketing Tammy Neil.
Women with insurance can receive breast cancer screenings at little or no cost at the mobile mammography event at The Star. Call (888) 233-6121 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ups are permitted, but priority will be given to women with appointments.
Women who are uninsured or underinsured can be screened for a $150 fee. Cash, debit cards and credit cards are accepted.
Uninsured or underinsured women can also contact the New Mexico Department of Health’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program at (877) 852-2585 to locate a screening clinic or medical provider who can qualify them for a no-cost breast cancer screening.
