Rain May Chase the Sunny Day Awa

Listen to the weather

Monsoon is not over yet folks. Starting this evening, rain is on the menu for Rio Rancho.

It might be a good time to kick back and watch a very addictive TV show on Netflix or Amazon or any other streaming services. We all have that one show that we start watching and forget what year it is by the time we finish. Mine is Dr. Who.

“Initially, these storms will favor central and western NM, but a backdoor cold front arrives later this afternoon which helps to increase storm chances for the east through Tuesday. The flash flood threat continues,” Albuquerque National Weather Service Meteorologist Randall Herdgert said.

Albuquerque NWS advises people to stay away from arroyos and channels when rain is likely. Even though your area might not be flooding, those definitely will.

Here’s todays forecast:

It will be sunny and hot until about 4 p.m. when chances of isolated thunderstorms and rain are about 20 percent. Then, after 7 p.m., the chance increases to 50 percent. The high will be 97 and the low will be 67.

Hopefully the rain helps with the persisting drought in NM.
