City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Nov. 13.
Due to increased safety measures related to COVID-19 and the November 13, 2020 public health order (shelter in place) issued by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, in addition to Rio Rancho City Hall, other City facilities are closed to the public for in-person services beginning November 16, 2020 through November 30, 2020. During this time, City personnel will still provide services to citizens electronically or by phone. Other City services, such as emergency services, road repair and maintenance, utilities billing, and Development Services-related, which support essential operations and businesses, will continue to be fully operational.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has been sweeping through our local communities and the state for over eight months,” said Mayor Greggory Hull. “We must work together to protect ourselves and others from this virus. Out of the need to do our part to keep people as safe as possible, the City is taking the following action in response to the Governor’s public health order. I want to encourage each individual to do their part by staying home and only going out when absolutely necessary to prevent further spread of this disease. We will get through this together.”
