City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Out of an abundance of caution and due to State public health orders, the statewide surge in COVID-19 positive cases, and in an effort to reduce the stress on our healthcare system, Rio Rancho City Hall will close to the public on Monday, November 9 at 5:00 p.m. until further notice. The purpose of doing so is to increase social distancing efforts, expand teleworking opportunities, and limit gatherings. Other City facilities will remain open in a limited capacity or have altered services. During this time, City personnel will still provide services to citizens electronically or by phone. Other City services, such as emergency services, road repair and maintenance, utilities billing, and Development Services-related will continue to be fully operational.
On November 5, 2020, Rio Rancho Police Department headquarters, which includes Municipal Court, closed to the public due safety precautions and the prioritization of available resources regarding the statewide surge in COVID-19 positive cases.
