NEW MEXICO SANDOVAL COUNTY: National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

New Mexico Sandoval County issued the following announcement on Oct. 20.

It’s that time again!  The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) provided the public the opportunity to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10:00am to 2:00pm for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.  

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. 

However due to COVID-19, there are health concerns and the risk of exposure for those who want to participate.  All those who want to participate, please remember to follow the State Guidelines which protect you as well as the public.

Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office is planning on having 3 drop off locations:

1) Sandoval  County Sheriff’s Office 

2) 1 Ridge CT, Placitas, NM 87043 (La Puerta Real Estate Services) 505-867-3388

3) San Ysidro Police Department
