The current and amended public health orders (stay-at-home orders) issued by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Department of Health limits private and public mass gatherings to no more than five individuals in a single room or connected space where individuals are within six feet of each other; however, government officials and employees in the course of their employment are unaffected by these orders and teleworking is encouraged. As such, and pursuant to the State laws regarding open meetings, City of Rio Rancho Governing Body and Planning and Zoning Board meetings will continue to take place, though the public is discouraged from attending in-person, no more than five people (non-government affiliated) will be allowed in the Governing Body Chambers at one time, the ability to view meetings online is available, public comments can be submitted through different platforms, the presence of City staff will be limited, and some officials will be participating in the meeting remotely.
