City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.
Join Gregg Hull Mayor of Rio Rancho on September 5 for this year's Rally in the Desert. Teams of 5 or fewer are challenged to help keep Rio Rancho beautiful by removing trash from the community’s open spaces.
The top 3 teams that collect the most trash by weight will win cash prizes, courtesy of Waste Management of Rio Rancho.
Keep Rio Rancho Beautiful staff will assign cleanup locations to each group, and dumpsters will be strategically placed at each of those locations for trash disposal.
In order to abide by executive orders from the Governor's office, all volunteers must wear masks, practice social distancing, and only groups of 5 or less will be permitted to volunteer at each location.
Ceramic coffee mug and lunch bags to the first 250 volunteers.
