City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on June 22.
The City of Rio Rancho is hosting an admission free drive-in fireworks extravaganza event at City Center. On Saturday, July 4, the City Center area opens for parking at 7:00 p.m. and the fireworks show begins at 9:00 pm.
The City invites community members to enjoy the dazzling display of fireworks, while adhering to state mandated social distancing guidelines.
Parking and Event Information
Access to City Center and parking in available locations will be on a first come, first served basis. The City Center area opens for parking at 7:00 p.m. and the event begins at 9:00 p.m. Vehicles must be parked with 18 feet of distance (two empty spaces) between each vehicle. If patrons want to get out of their vehicles, they must sit in front of, on, or in back of their vehicle. Once parking is full, vehicles will be turned away from the event area. There is no event parking available at the UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center and access to the hospital must not be inhibited at any time.
Restroom facilities are available in a limited capacity at the Santa Ana Star Center. Patrons are required to remain in or around their vehicles except when using facilities, such as restrooms. Patrons shall not congregate, and are required to wear face coverings and maintain six feet of distance between themselves and others when leaving their parking spaces to use restroom facilities.
Be Prepared
There are no concessions available (including water sales) at City Center. Citizens are encouraged to support local Rio Rancho dining establishments by picking up food and snacks on the way to the event. No alcoholic beverages are allowed at the event.
