City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on May 14.
The City of Rio Rancho’s Financial Services Department has been recognized for the 13th consecutive year by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its budget document.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award recognizes the City’s budget for the current fiscal year that ends on June 30, 2020. In order to receive the award, the City’s budget had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation that includes serving as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
The GFOA is a professional organization serving more than 20,000 government entities and finance practitioners.
