City of Rio Rancho issued the following announcement on Apr. 2.
The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the course of our daily lives and is adversely impacting many small businesses in our community. Recently implemented Federal and State economic rescue tools can provide Rio Rancho businesses interim relief to navigate through this challenging period. To increase awareness about various assistance programs, and to assist business owners with research into what resources and tools best fit them, their business, and employees, the City of Rio Rancho has created an information hub for COVID-19 Economic Recovery. By visiting www.rrnm.gov/economicrecovery, business owners will find up-to-date and consolidated information regarding sick leave, unemployment assistance, employee retention programs, small business loans, and much more.
“As a former small business owner, I empathize with the job creators in our community, across the metro area, and the state as they grapple with the effects of COVID-19,” said Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull. “My goal is to share relevant insights and updates as information becomes available, as well as share links to articles, resources, and tools that cut-through the clutter of information that our small business owners are being inundated with. Please check the www.rrnm.gov/economicrecovery webpage regularly.”
Business owners should always be mindful of prudent cyber-security and identity theft best practices and protections as they explore all COVID-19 resources. Phishing and other scams are on the uptick with teleworking and the roll out of these economic rescue programs.
