Sandoval County issued the following announcement on Mar. 22.

Sandoval County Treasurer Laura M. Montoya announces the temporary modification of the Treasurer’s Office schedule of operations for the week of March 22, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Upon Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s executive order, Sandoval County was pro-active in minimizing staff and utilizing only a skeleton crew.

In the effort to reduce the potential spread of the coronavirus, keep taxpayers and our team and their families safe, we will be adjusting how we serve fellow Sandoval County Residents even more. The office will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. We will continue to have the staff returns calls from the safety of their homes, stated Treasurer Montoya. If there is any type of work that needs to be processed in the office, it will be by appointment only.” These actions are in response to the State of Emergency, the increase in Sandoval County residents who have tested positive with the Coronavirus and to comply with the social distancing requirement by both the state and federal government.

“We love our community and are doing our part to keep everyone safe, especially our most vulnerable. If we all work together and stay home, this will allow us to move past this crisis quickly. If you have questions or need assistance, please email us at treasurer@sandovalcountynm.gov or call 505-867-7581 and leave a message with your name, account number and phone number. We strive to respond to all taxpayers within one business day,” added Montoya.

The Treasurer’s Office will continue to accept and process property tax payments over the phone (in English and Spanish) at 1-866-873-0944, online at sandovalcountynm.gov/paytaxes, or by utilizing our convenient drop box located in the North parking lot of the county administration building. Payments will be processed daily to comply with state statute.
