Sandoval County recently issued the following announcement.
Sandoval County Fair The Sandoval County Fair is scheduled for July 29 through August 2, 2020.
Indoor entries will be accepted July 27 and judged the next day. As of today, Fair Board President Timothy Johnson has no plans to make any changes to this schedule. However, in light of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, safety for our families, workers, and the public is a priority. The Fair Board is monitoring state and federal guidelines and communicating with the Extension Office of any changes and updates as needed. Should the COVID-19 outbreak continue and cause a cancellation of the fair, the 4-H/FFA Livestock Shows and Sale will be re-scheduled to a later date. We understand that it will make it difficult for youth to hold weights, maintain freshness and show condition of project animals.
Our judges will take into consideration the effect of feeding longer and judge accordingly. As a livestock exhibitor, you will experience challenges that many producers face daily. Health, feed costs, and marketing decisions affect the bottom-line of all operations. Hope that each of you as an exhibitor weigh your options and make appropriate/accurate choices.
