State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, has recently posted on social media about the challenges residents face in accessing healthcare in the state.
On August 8, 2025, Block shared a story of two residents: “Meet Karn and Pat, a husband and wife who came to New Mexico three years ago to live in their dream home and enjoy our beautiful state. On August 11, 2025, Block expressed support for local efforts with another post: “Awesome! Great work!!! County by county.” (August 11, 2025).
Block succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino as senator after being elected earlier in the year. His recent comments reflect ongoing debates about healthcare accessibility and legal environments impacting medical professionals within New Mexico.
