State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing international developments and expressing condolences for fallen service members.
On March 14, 2026, Block commented on political changes in South America, stating: “Beautiful moment. Let’s hope and pray the people of Venezuela build a government with a foundation of freedom. Look how far Argentina has come in such a short period. Venezuela can do it too!”
The following day, he offered condolences to military families: “May God comfort the families of the fallen who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.” This message was posted on March 15, 2026.
Later that same day, Block turned his attention to Cuba: “You can feel freedom coming to the beautiful Cuban people who have suffered fer too long under oppression, murder, and poverty under the leftist communist government.”
Block succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino as state senator after being elected in 2025.
