State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, recently posted several statements on social media addressing political discourse and upcoming legislative activities.
On September 25, 2025, Block expressed gratitude to Bob Clark for a conversation regarding his trip to Israel and an upcoming special session. He wrote, “Thank you, Bob Clark, for talking to @ThorntonforNM and I this morning about our trip to Israel and the upcoming special session. @KKOBradio https://t.co/Mo9IKqKG6S”.
Later that day, Block commented on rhetoric he perceives as contributing to political violence. In his post from September 25, 2025, he stated: “This is why the violence on the left is so bad. Comments like this are pushing insane leftists to violence and killing. First, very inaccurate comparison between the KKK and ICE. The KKK was an arm of the Democrat party that spread terror and committed violence targeting blacks https://t.co/tFGfaujpfO”.
In another message posted shortly after on September 25, 2025, Block encouraged individuals to distance themselves from the Democratic Party. He wrote: “Well said. We need more people to leave the progress socialist party aka democrats to abandon them. Take that back, they abandoned you. https://t.co/QtOBAAi2Py”.
Block assumed office in 2025 after being elected as state senator for New Mexico’s 12th district; he succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino in this role.
