The City of Rio Rancho announced on May 14 that its public libraries—Loma Colorado, Esther Bone, and The Hub—will close early at noon on Friday, May 22 to allow for staff training. Normal operating hours will resume for all public libraries on Saturday, May 23.

This temporary change is intended to provide library staff with dedicated time for professional development. Such efforts support the city’s ongoing commitment to maintaining quality municipal services and ensuring well-trained personnel are available to assist the community.

The City of Rio Rancho provides a range of municipal services including utilities, public safety, parks, recreation, library resources, and community programs through its various departments and facilities, according to the official website. The city also supports community engagement through events and transparency initiatives such as publishing agendas and minutes online.

City Hall is located at 3200 Civic Center Circle NE in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Utilities services managed by the city include water operations, billing systems, and customer support functions—all part of its mission to serve residents effectively according to the official website.

Library users are encouraged to plan accordingly for this one-day schedule adjustment. Regular activities and access will be restored following the completion of staff training.
