State Senator Jay Block, who represents New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, posted a series of tweets on January 13, 2026, sharing his views on law enforcement compliance and reactions to an altercation.

In one post at 01:50 UTC, Block wrote, “Huge!!!”.

At 01:58 UTC the same day, he stated: “Always comply. Let them do their job. You have a complaint. Work it out after your arrest. Don’t be that ‘guy’ as we used to say in the military.”

Minutes later, at 02:00 UTC, Block commented on a video or incident involving an altercation by saying: “This guy in the red deserved a punch in the face. The other guy kept his cool and then went beast mode. Down goes Lefty (a few of them)!”

Block is a Republican elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 for the state’s 12th Senate district, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino.
