State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, recently posted several statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account addressing topics ranging from law enforcement accountability to political debates.

On September 7, 2025, Block addressed officers in a strongly worded message: “You are officers. Either follow your oath or resign. You deserve being arrested and discharged. Pull their security clearances immediately.”

Minutes later on the same day, Block commented on a debate involving “Senator Starfish” and RFK, drawing an analogy to President Joe Biden’s past public speaking gaffes: “Senator Starfish debating RFK is like a Joe Biden describing the Declaration of Independence, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women are created, by the, you know, you know the thing,’ it’s a hot mess and embarrassing.”

In another post published shortly after his previous tweets, Block simply wrote: “Thank you!!!” on September 7, 2025.

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 following his victory over Jerry Ortiz y Pino. He serves as part of the state’s Republican delegation and represents constituents in the 12th district.
