State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, posted a series of critical remarks on his social media account between December 7 and December 8, 2025.
On December 7, Block wrote, “She’s has to be certifiably nuts/bananas.” Later that day, he added another post stating, “Another one who needs a straightjacket.”
The following day, on December 8, Block commented on national politics with the statement: “All we needed was a common sense president with America First policies. More messes to clean up in aisle 46.”
Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after replacing former state senator Jerry Ortiz y Pino. He is affiliated with the Republican Party and currently serves as the representative for the state’s 12th Senate district.
