State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing government transparency, labor contributions, and public safety.
On August 30, 2025, Block referenced his legislative efforts in a post: “Remember when I put forward a bill for government transparency and efficiency, and the Democras refused to work with me? I talked about Medicaid fraud, and I was told from naysayers there is no fraud? Well, we knew they were wrong, and here’s the proof! That’s right! Approx.”
On September 1, 2025, Block marked Labor Day by expressing appreciation for American workers. He wrote: “Today, we celebrate our workers and the great contributions labor made to our country. Enjoy the day off with family and friends! Thank you to all the workers for what you do to keep this country moving forward!!!”
Later that same day, Block commented on public safety in Washington D.C., stating: “DC is very safe. Even the Democrat mayor there thankfully acknowledged how helpful additional law enforcement enhanced safety! Let’s go get those criminals off the street!”
Block succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino as state senator after being elected in 2025. As a member of the Republican Party in New Mexico’s legislature, he has focused on issues such as government transparency and public safety.
