State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, used his social media platform on October 4, 2025, to voice criticism of sanctuary policies and Democratic leaders.

In one post published at 11:47 a.m. UTC, Block wrote, “Maybe, just maybe if states cooperated with the feds turning over illegal aliens, this wouldn’t happen. Sanctuary states and cities are putting lives in danger.”

Later that morning at 11:48 a.m. UTC, he shared another message stating simply, “We have a great speaker.”

By mid-afternoon at 3:09 p.m. UTC, Block continued his commentary with another post: “This is who the Democrats are protecting. Not you.”

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino as the representative for the state’s 12th Senate district.
