State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, posted a series of tweets on December 1, 2025, addressing issues ranging from expressions of gratitude to criticisms of media coverage and endorsements in political races.
In one post, Block expressed appreciation for support received by the people of western North Carolina: “Huge thank you!!!!! Awesome. The people of western NC can’t thank you and Mya enough!!! Just wow!” (December 1, 2025).
Block also questioned media coverage regarding an unspecified scandal. He wrote: “Why isn’t the MSM reporting on this huge scandal? Maybe if the Gov was a Republican it would report? Taxpayers should be furious. It is your hard earned money being taken from you! Demand accountability.” (December 1, 2025).
In another tweet posted the same day, Block urged voters to support Matt Van Epps while criticizing an unnamed candidate: “Please vote for Matt Van Epps! This is one of the most radical and hateful candidates I have ever seen. She hates Nashville, hates Tennessee, hates America, and hates everything good about our country. She’s into some really weird radical stuff. @GOP @TNGOP @MattForTN” (December 1, 2025).
Block was elected to his current position in the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after replacing Jerry Ortiz y Pino as senator for District 12.
