State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, expressed strong opinions about a recent legislative committee meeting and other subjects in a series of posts on October 7, 2025.

In one post from October 7, Block referenced another speaker, stating, “Doc said it best.” In a subsequent post the same day, he commented simply, “Great man.”

Later that day, Block criticized the conduct of a legislative committee meeting, writing, “Today was one of the worst committee meetings I’ve ever seen. The democrats actually brought in a disbarred trial lawyer (see picture) to advocate for, you guessed it, trial lawyers instead of New Mexicans who want access and quality to healthcare!!! Get ready for more attacks on”

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino as the representative for the 12th district. His recent comments reflect ongoing debates in the state legislature regarding legal advocacy and healthcare policy.
