State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing actions by lawmakers and the state’s political climate.

On November 6, 2025, Block wrote about a recent interview: “I was recently interviewed on KOAT regarding a real crazy lawmaker that put ICE agents lives and others at risk with a stupid stunt. She needs to be held accountable if she violated the law. It’s real simple, if you don’t like the law, change it. Just stop vilifying people for”.

The following day, November 7, 2025, Block posted: “This is happening.”

Later on November 7, he added: “I’m asking the Tin Man, Lion, and Scarecrow to give Ben Ray and Martin their gifts from the Wizard. As you have heard, the Gov has called another special session. This would not be necessary but our two senators in DC disparately need a heart (Tin Man), courage (Lion), and a”

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after replacing Jerry Ortiz y Pino as senator for District 12.
