State Senator Jay Block, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, posted a series of tweets on October 18, 2025, criticizing national political figures and expressing concerns about government policy.
In one post, Block wrote: “Our great president. President Walking Dead and Vice President Wine Box thankfully were rejected by the American people!!!” (October 18, 2025).
Later that day, he commented on the right to protest and recent government shutdowns: “If he was a king, you wouldn’t have the right to protest. Idiots. How about have a protest for ‘No Shutdowns’ you keep voting for?” (October 18, 2025).
In another tweet addressing defense spending and immigration policy, Block stated: “I guess the Democrats are also against our nuclear deterrence capability. They are putting national security below funding illegal aliens. Let that sink in America….and enemies of America.” (October 18, 2025).
Block began serving as state senator after winning election in 2025, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino as representative for New Mexico’s 12th Senate district.
