State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, made a series of posts on his official social media account on April 8, 2026, expressing criticism of Democratic policies and recent events in U.S. politics.

In a post published at 02:10 UTC, Block commented on ongoing issues related to immigration and the Democratic Party’s motivations. He wrote, “Unfortunately there will be more. So sad. This never had to happen or should have happened. Democrats only cared about getting as many people here as possible for votes than they cared about us. Never forget that.”

Later that day, at 19:38 UTC, Block addressed economic and policy changes in New York City following recent elections. In his statement he said, “Shocking. Great campaign platform, ‘Vote for me, everything will be free.’ A few months later, property tax hike of 10% (hurts renters), no free (taxpayer funded) buses, people leaving NYC and NY, etc. Then, the mayor and Gov have the audacity to ask those who left to come back”.

In another post at 21:24 UTC on the same day, Block criticized certain judicial decisions by writing simply: “Activist judges. Awful.”

Block succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino after being elected to represent New Mexico’s 12th Senate district in 2025.
