State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, has posted several comments on his social media account addressing Democratic actions and colleagues in the state legislature.
On October 5, 2025, Block wrote, “Moving the goalposts…that’s a classic play by the Democrats.”
In a subsequent post on October 6, 2025, he offered congratulations: “Congratulations!!!”
Later that same day, Block commented on a Democratic colleague in the Senate: “My favorite Democrat in the Senate and the biggest surprise. The Ds will primary him. No question.”
Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 to represent the state’s 12th Senate district, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino.
