State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, published a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account on September 8 and 9, 2025, focusing on crime, political opposition, and government-funded programs.

In one post dated September 9, 2025, Block stated: “Remember who the Democrats stand for. Killers, rapists, violent criminals. Remember who we stand for. We stand for Katie, her parents, protecting the public, and the rule of law.

When Democrats say no one is above the law, they only mean those they go after.

Never forget https://t.co/bGVzR824yr“.

Earlier that day at 13:10 UTC, Block questioned terminology around publicly funded services: “Do you mean it’s totally free, like no one pays for it? Why not say universal taxpayer funded since we are all paying for it. Nothing is free. https://t.co/Nly2JDbiWx”.

On September 8 at 23:20 UTC, he also posted two links without accompanying text: “https://t.co/rz43P7fhTL https://t.co/BIf1od5ai3”.

Block assumed office in early 2025 after being elected to represent New Mexico’s 12th Senate district. He succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino in this position.
