State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, posted a series of tweets on October 8 and 9, 2025, addressing topics ranging from social commentary to international politics.

On October 8, Block commented on an unspecified issue with the statement: “This is why first cousins shouldn’t marry.” Later that day, he made a political assertion: “Democrats do not have your six.”

The following day, Block addressed recent developments in Middle Eastern diplomacy. On October 9, he wrote: “Trump did it! After two years of war, Arab partners, Israel, and Hamas have agreed to a peace deal. Only Trump could get it down along with the 6 or 7 peace deals he has already accomplished this year. Trump will go down as a man of peace. Blessed are the peacemakers.”

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino as representative for the state’s 12th Senate district.
