State Senator Jay Block, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, recently posted several comments on social media regarding mental health, government funding, and a personal commendation.
On October 16, 2025, Block commented on mental health statistics, stating, “These are good numbers to see. We must do more for mental health and ensure young people have the resources they need. This has destroyed countless lives and many studies in Europe have shown horrible effects. Many have transitioned back thankfully but the damage was done.”
In another post on the same day, Block addressed congressional actions on government funding, writing, “Clean CR Democrats, you’ve done it before and Shumer has voted for a clean CR 29 times to keep the gov open. This is on the radical Democrats, and them alone.”
Block also shared a personal commendation in a separate post, stating, “What a beautiful girl! That is a good young man right there. Hats off!!” on October 16, 2025.
Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025, succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino as the representative for the state’s 12th Senate district.
