State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, posted several statements on his social media account this week addressing legislative activities and expressing strong opinions on recent events.

On January 17, 2026, Block summarized his recent work in the state legislature: “Another busy week serving as your state senator. We had a great bipartisan meeting discussing capital outlay in Sandoval County and Rio Rancho. I have already met with officials in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Once I decide which critical projects and groups to fund, I will https://t.co/nX4p6EdmVc”.

Two days later, on January 19, Block published two brief but pointed posts. The first read simply: “Evil. https://t.co/j3CYj1Qa1B”. In another post that same day, he commented on an event involving protesters: “These people are complete jackasses. Get a job. Leave people alone so they can shop in peace. Stop disturbing the peace with this illegal protest. You are only pissing people off. Idiots. Spoiled little brats. https://t.co/DPNeRthiVl”.

Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after defeating incumbent Jerry Ortiz y Pino and now represents the state’s 12th Senate district.
