State Senator Jay Block, who was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 as a Republican representing the 12th district, shared several opinions on social media on September 6, 2025.

In one post from that day, Block commented on another senator’s political style, stating, “I think this Sen is an old-school 80s-like Democrat. I can take that these days.” (September 6, 2025).

Later the same day, Block remarked on attire worn by a Massachusetts senator: “A senator from Massachusetts wearing a Phillies jersey. Shame. #RedSoxNation #RedSox” (September 6, 2025).

In another post published within minutes of his previous comment, Block praised actions prioritizing public safety: “Wow!!! Awesome job, and thank you for putting people’s safety first over criminals.” (September 6, 2025).

Block assumed office in New Mexico’s state legislature after winning the seat for District 12 in the most recent election cycle. He succeeded Jerry Ortiz y Pino as part of a broader change in representation for the area.
