State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district, shared a series of posts on October 5, 2025, expressing his views on local events and national issues.
In one post, Block reflected on the annual Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico. He wrote, “Balloon Fiesta is my favorite time of the year amd there is no other event like it on the planet. The glow is just incredible! My family and I had a wonderful time and it was great seeing so many others we knew who were having an incredible time. Get out and enjoy YOUR balloon “ (posted October 5, 2025).
Later that day, Block commented on public safety concerns regarding certain groups. He stated, “Anarchists and terrorists. Huge threat to the safety of law enforcement and Americans. Arrest them when they cross the line and hold them accountable. They must be deterred.” (posted October 5, 2025).
In another post addressing social programs and political opponents, Block wrote, “A radical lefty taking advantage of subsidized transportation. I hope he enjoys the subsidized housing and food at his new home.” (posted October 5, 2025).
Block began serving as state senator for New Mexico’s 12th district in 2025 after succeeding Jerry Ortiz y Pino.
