State Senator Jay Block, a Republican representing New Mexico’s 12th Senate district since 2025, posted several comments on his Twitter account over the weekend addressing political debates, public safety, and immigration.
On May 10, 2026, Block commented on a recent debate by writing: “Actually a smart move by her. She came off very dumb and incompetent. Let’s try to hide that this debate by not showing up and coming up with the Marcia Brady excuse, ‘something suddenly came up.'”
Later that day, he responded to developments in criminal justice policy: “Fantastic news. Keeping our citizens safe and violent criminals in jail is now a priority. Finally after 4 years of crazy.”
On May 11, Block addressed an immigration matter with the statement: “The right way. Welcome back and hope you get your citizenship fast!”
Block was elected to the New Mexico State Senate in 2025 after defeating Jerry Ortiz y Pino. He represents the state’s 12th Senate district.
